A man who allegedly fabricated a murder-for-hire plot has been charged and remanded by the Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court.
Ronald Kizito was on Monday arraigned by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) on charges of demanding money with menaces.
Prosecution told court that in February 2026, Kizito reported at Kira Police Station that he had been hired by Robert Mugimba to kill his wife. However, he later admitted in March that the allegations were false.
It is alleged that after confessing, Kizito demanded shs4 million from Mugimba in exchange for withdrawing the earlier report.
He was arrested while receiving the money.
Kizito was remanded in custody until April 30, 2026, as investigations into the matter continue.
