Police have arrested a man who has been on the run after killing his daughter’s boyfriend after he delivered a valentine’s day flower to her in Matugga.
Herbert Musasizi, 41 allegedly beat to death Martin Bukenya, a student at Hillside Secondary School in Matugga and a resident of Kirinyabigo Kawanda in Wakiso district whom he found at his(Musasizi) house at Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division, Nansana Municipality after delivering a Valentine’s Day flower to his girlfriend.
According to preliminary police reports, Musasizi, allegedly found the student at his residence in Mabanda Cell, Gombe Division, Nansana Municipality.
It is alleged that Musasizi confronted the teenager and assaulted him, accusing him of engaging in a relationship with his daughter without his consent. The confrontation is said to have escalated into violence, leading to Bukenya’s death.
Musasizi has been on the run since then when the incident happened on Valentine’s Day.
However, according to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala, the suspect has been apprehended in Gulu where he was hiding.
“The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue,” SP Kawala said.
