President Museveni has received Letters of Credence from five newly appointed ambassadors representing the United Arab Emirates, China, the Netherlands, Sweden and Germany.
The ambassadors presented their credentials to Museveni at State House, Entebbe, formally beginning their diplomatic assignments in Uganda.
The envoys are Fahad Abdulrahman Ali Al Bishr of the United Arab Emirates, Wu Guangrong of China, Angele van der Heijden-Samura of the Netherlands, Anna-Maria Olsson of Sweden and Sigrid Ingelore Luise Sommer of Germany.
Museveni welcomed the ambassadors to Uganda and wished them success in their new assignments.
The arrival of the five envoys comes as Uganda seeks to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation with its international partners across areas of mutual interest.
Government is expected to work with the new diplomatic representatives to deepen political, economic and other areas of bilateral cooperation and strengthen relations between Uganda and their respective countries.
The ceremony was attended by Vincent Bagiire Waiswa, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ambassador Henry Mayega.
