Lina Zedriga, the Deputy President for Northern Uganda of the (NUP), has been granted bail by the Gulu Chief Magistrate’s Court after spending nearly a month on remand.
Zedriga, who is facing charges of incitement to violence, was released on a cash bail of Shs1 million.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Augustine AluleKoma, also bonded her four sureties at a non-cash bail of Shs10 million each.
According to the prosecution, in December 2025, Zedriga allegedly incited members of the public to commit acts of violence at various locations across Northern Uganda, including Gulu, Amuru, Omoro and Nwoya districts.
She is accused of specifically targeting supporters of the ruling (NRM) on the basis of their political opinions.
Court records indicate that the charge was registered under Police Charge Gulu CRB 068/2026 at Aswa West Police Station and was sanctioned on February 6, 2026.
