A fatal road accident involving a concrete mixer and a truck has claimed one life in Seeta this morning, police have confirmed.
The crash, which occurred during the early rush hours, disrupted traffic flow along the busy Kampala–Jinja highway, forcing authorities to issue an urgent advisory to motorists.
Police said efforts are already underway to tow the wreckage and clear the road.
“To ease movement, motorists from the City Centre heading to Kireka are advised to use the Kinawataka–Kirinya–Jokas route. Those using the Northern Bypass should divert at Naalya Roundabout through Kyaliwajala–Sonde–Seeta, while motorists from Mukono to Kampala are advised to use Kalagi Road,” police said in a statement.
Authorities extended condolences to the bereaved family and urged drivers to remain patient and cooperative as the situation is handled.
“We regret the loss of life and apologize for the inconvenience caused. Further details will be communicated in due course,” the statement added.
