Police in Kampala are investigating city socialite Brian Kirumira, also known as Brian White over the death of his lover, Caroline Nalubwama.
The 25 year old is said to have died due to injuries sustained following gas explosion at the socialite’s home residence in Kyamula, Makindye Division.
Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire said in a statement on Wednesday afternoon that Nalubwama died at Kiruddu Hospital where she had been rushed after the incident.
“Preliminary information indicates that the deceased was at the home of Mr. Bryan Kirumira, alias Bryan White, when the incident occurred, “Owoyesigyire said.
He noted that a team of detectives visited and documented the scene, recovering several exhibits to aid in the ongoing investigation.
“The scene was examined and relevant exhibits were recovered. The body has been conveyed to the City Mortuary, Mulago, for post-mortem examination to establish the actual cause of death,” he added.
Police also confirmed that Bryan White sustained injuries during the incident and is currently receiving medical treatment.
“The suspect, who reportedly sustained injuries during the alleged incident, has recorded a statement to assist in the investigations,” Owoyesigyire revealed.
He said efforts are underway to retrieve CCTV footage and record statements from potential witnesses to piece together what happened.
“Updates will be provided as soon as substantial progress is made,” Owoyesigyire added.
