Opposition National Unity Platform has denied incumbent Medard Sseggona its card for Busiro East.
According to results of the party election management committee, Kyengera town council mayor Mathias Walukagga has been given the NUP flag for Busiro East
The decision followed an internal vetting process, which considered loyalty to party structures, grassroots support, and alignment with NUP’s broader political strategy going into the 2026 polls.
The change has already stirred debate among supporters in Busiro East, with some expressing surprise at Sseggona’s exclusion, while others welcomed fresh representation under Walukagga.
