Police in Wakiso have arrested a stepfather accused of defiling his two stepdaughters, aged 14 and 12, in a case that has shocked the local community.
Identified as Edirisa Ssentamu, allegedly abused the girls between June and October 2025 at their home in Nsekwa–Musisi Village, Wakiso District.
The matter was reported to Wakiso Police Station on December 8, 2025, at around 12:00 PM.
According to SP Rachael Kawala, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, the suspect is reported to have taken advantage of the children while their mother was away at the market.
“Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect, Ssentamu Edirisa, allegedly took advantage of the victims while their mother was away at the market, and shared a single room with them,” SP Kawala said.
Police confirmed that the 14-year-old victim is pregnant, adding to the gravity of the case.
“We strongly condemn such acts of sexual violence, more so by parents and guardians that these girls look to for protection,” SP Kawala stated.
A case of aggravated defilement has been opened, and investigations are ongoing as the suspect remains in custody.
Police have urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and protect children from abuse.
