A Sunday morning school trip turned tragic after a bus carrying pupils from Star Junior School in Makindye overturned along the Mityana Road, killing at least two children on the spot.
The accident happened near Zigoti Town Council as the pupils were returning from an educational excursion. The bus, a yellow HMK model with registration number UAP 829U, reportedly veered off the road before flipping multiple times.
Witnesses at the scene described a chaotic moment as the vehicle lost control under yet-to-be-determined circumstances, leaving several pupils trapped and others flung out of the bus during the rollover.
Emergency responders, including police and local Good Samaritans, rushed to the scene.
Multiple injured pupils were quickly evacuated to Mityana General Hospital, though the full extent of injuries remains unconfirmed.
