The Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni, who also serves as Uganda’s First Lady, is set to officially release the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examination results today, February 13, at State House, Nakasero.
The release ceremony, scheduled for 11:00 a.m., marks a key milestone for thousands of O’level candidates who are preparing to transition to A’level education.
According to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), a total of 432,159 candidates sat the 2025 UCE examinations across 4,308 examination centres nationwide representing a 12.1% increase compared to the 379,748 candidates who registered in 2024, reflecting continued growth in secondary school enrollment.
Of the candidates who sat for the examinations, 52.7% were female, while 47.3% were male. At least 154,637 learners were registered under the Universal Secondary Education (USE) programme, with the rest being privately sponsored.
The 2025 UCE examinations were conducted under the theme:
“Embracing security and holistic assessment of learners in a dynamic environment.”
