Kawempe North MP Erias Nalukoola has turned his focus back to community service, launching a new health facility named EKSEL Medical Services(EMS) to serve the people of Kawempe.
The facility, located along Tula Road, was officially unveiled on Sunday in a ceremony presided over by NUP president Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine along side party Secretary General Lewis Rubongoya and Leader of opposition Joel Ssenyonyi.
The health centre is dedicated to providing accessible and improved medical services to the underprivileged communities in the constituency.
During his speech, Erias Nalukoola expressed his commitment to doing even more for the people of Kawempe North, urging voters to support NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) in future elections.
“This is just a small step compared to what we are planning to do for you,” Nalukoola said. “If you vote our president into power, we will build even more.”
Speaking about court nullification or his victory, Nalukoola noted that he’s ready for another election.
“Even if fresh elections were held tomorrow, I would still win. The people of Kawempe know who truly stands with them.”
Bobi Wine commended Nalukoola for delivering on his promises to the community.
“We are proud of you for fulfilling what we told the people,” he said. “You are walking in the true footsteps of the late Ssegirinya.”
The initiative comes at a time when public health needs in Kawempe remain a pressing concern, especially in informal settlements where clinics are scarce and government hospitals overstretched.
Observers have noted that Nalukoola’s gesture echoes the legacy of the late MP Muhammad Ssegirinya, who similarly prioritized healthcare in Kawempe North.
Ssegirinya had established a community hospital to serve residents before he was entangled in legal troubles related to bijambiya killings in Masaka.
Unfortunately, once Ssegirinya became embroiled in those legal battles, support for his hospital dwindled and the facility eventually closed.
Residents and leaders in the constituency thanked Nalukoola for the steadfast deliverance to them noting that they will now have access to medication.
