13-time Uganda Premier League champions, KCCA FC have appointed Jackson Magera and Brian Ssenyondo as co-coaches for the senior team for the next two years.
In a statement on Friday afternoon, the Kasasiro Boys described the decision as one that highlights the club’s obligation to build a strong technical bench that combines experience, tactical skill, and a profound understanding of the game.
“Jackson Magera is a familiar and respected figure within the KCCA FC household, having served in various capacities, including the National Team U15 and U17, where he achieved success and qualified the U17 team for AFCON. He has also previously served as our Soccer Academy Head Coach, Senior Assistant Coach, and Interim Head Coach. His understanding of the club’s DNA will be instrumental in this new role,” KCCA FC said .
“Joining him is Brian Ssenyondo, with a proven track record and success in Ugandan and international football, having won the Uganda Cup previously, coached in CAF continental games, won the U17 CECAFA title, and qualified the U17 boys National Team to AFCON and later the World Cup for the very first time in Uganda’s history. His fresh perspective is expected to supplement Magera’s foundational understanding of KCCA FC.”
The club said it looks forward to a successful tenure under the guidance of co-coaches Magera and Ssenyondo as it tries to revive its past glory, especially in the Uganda Premier League which has eluded the team for now four years.
KCCA FC last tasted league glory in 2019 under the guidance of Mike Mutebi.
The duo replaces Abdalla Mubiru who was sacked as head coach in April, 2025.
