Thousands of Ugandans turned out at Kololo Independence Grounds for the 2025 Rotary Cancer Run, a vibrant display of community solidarity against cancer. Central to this year’s event was C-Care Uganda, serving as the official medical partner and ensuring participants could run with confidence, knowing their health and safety were well cared for.
The C-Care medical team provided first aid, emergency care, hydration, and post-run wellness checks, keeping medical tents busy throughout the day. Their efforts reflected the organization’s commitment to service and compassion in the fight against cancer.
This year’s run aimed to raise hs4 billion for the completion of a state-of-the-art radiotherapy center at Nsambya Hospital, featuring two linear accelerator machines.
The facility is expected to offer advanced treatment options to thousands of patients, addressing the growing prevalence of cancers such as cervical, breast, and prostate cancer.
Sheila Aboth, Head of Brand and Client Experience at C-Care Uganda, praised the unity displayed at the event.
“The energy here today is truly electric. For C-Care, being the medical partner is about standing shoulder-to-shoulder with every runner, survivor, and family touched by cancer. Together, we are proving that cancer is not invincible,” she said.
Dr. Miriam Mutero Musinga, General Manager of C-Care IHK, emphasized the broader mission behind the partnership. “Our collaboration with the Rotary Cancer Run reflects our commitment to delivering trusted, world-class healthcare. The work our team has done here today is a glimpse of the larger fight to raise awareness, drive early detection, and provide advanced treatment—a significant step forward for healthcare in Uganda.”
According to the Uganda Cancer Institute, nearly 33,000 Ugandans are diagnosed with cancer annually, underscoring the urgent need for awareness, early detection, and expanded patient care.
The 2025 Rotary Cancer Run, supported by C-Care Uganda, represents a major effort to strengthen community engagement in the fight against the disease.
