National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Emmanuel Andama has been elected as the 21st Guild President of Kyambogo University after securing a landslide victory in the just concluded polls.
Andama garnered 2,391 votes, defeating his closest rival Tonney Bwette, who polled 1,333 votes.
His win comes shortly after the university administration expelled Akiso Benjamin, the former guild president and current NUP Head of Institutions, leaving the position vacant.
Following the announcement, NUP congratulated Andama on his victory, describing it as a testament to the resilience of their movement.
“Congratulations comrade Andama Emmanuel on your election as the 21st guild President of Kyambogo University. Your victory is a clear manifestation that the struggle cannot be silenced!,” read a post on the party’s official X account.
The outcome cements NUP’s influence in student leadership at Kyambogo, with the party hailing Andama’s triumph as a sign of continued trust from young Ugandans.
