The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has dismissed a petition filed by KCCA FC challenging the eligibility of Kitara FC forward Patrick Kaddu, ruling that the player was duly cleared to feature in the Uganda Premier League fixture played on September 26, 2025.
The match, held at Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, ended in a 1-1 draw.
KCCA had petitioned FUFA following the encounter, arguing that Kitara fielded an ineligible player after Kaddu’s details reportedly did not appear on the federation’s online registration system and his contract had not been uploaded at the time.
However, the FUFA Disciplinary Panel, sitting at FUFA House in Mengo on February 12, 2026, dismissed the complaint and upheld the result of the match.
In its ruling, the panel described the matter as a technical error that was beyond the club’s control and said it would be unjust to impose sanctions under such circumstances.
“It would be unjust to impose a disciplinary sanction on a club for a technical error that was beyond its control,” the panel noted in its decision.
FUFA further affirmed that Kaddu was eligible to play and that Kitara FC did not breach any competition regulations.
“Kitara FC did not field an ineligible player during the match played on 26th September 2025. The result of the match is upheld and shall stand,” the ruling stated.
The decision brings the dispute to a close, with Kitara retaining the point earned from the draw as the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season progresses.
