Kampala’s nightlife scene was introduced to a new experiential concept as Club Canvas, an activation by Club Pilsener under Nile Breweries Limited, made its debut on April 11 with a curated blend of music, art, and interactive entertainment at Muyenga Quarry.

In the days leading up to the event, a subtle but intentional buildup unfolded across the city, with campus activations, digital engagements, and selective invitations generating anticipation without traditional mass advertising.

Rather than relying on conventional promotion, organisers adopted an experience-led rollout, where access was earned through selected on-ground and online interactions, including promotional engagements involving Club shorties. The approach shifted audiences from passive observers into active participants, building momentum ahead of the main event.

By the time the final activation was held at Clarke University in Muyenga, interest had intensified, with anticipation transitioning into demand.

The main event venue at Muyenga Quarry was transformed into an immersive creative space designed to reflect the “canvas” concept. The raw outdoor setting featured live art installations, face painting, tattoo stations, and gaming zones, creating an environment that encouraged exploration and movement.

Guests moved between different experience points rather than remaining in fixed viewing areas, interacting with installations and contributing to the overall atmosphere of the night.

MC Pest opened the event with a steady build-up, setting the tone for the evening before DJs Vanns, Trizzy, and Roja took over, delivering a seamless progression of sound that shifted the crowd from relaxed engagement to high-energy celebration.

The entertainment lineup featured performances from Zagazillions and Fyno UG, who delivered energetic sets that resonated with the audience. XHAVI and Aaronix sustained the momentum with consistent performances that kept the crowd engaged throughout the night.

A notable shift in pace came with Kohen Jayce, whose soulful RnB set introduced a more intimate moment within the otherwise high-energy experience. The night later regained intensity as MC Viana Indi took over, closing the event on a vibrant and commanding note.

Speaking about the concept, Nile Breweries Head of Marketing Wangechi Gitahi said Club Canvas was designed to reimagine nightlife through creativity, culture, and participation.

“We wanted to move beyond the traditional nightlife experience and create something more immersive, something that connects people to creativity, culture, and each other in a meaningful way,” Gitahi said. “Through Club Canvas, we are showcasing emerging talent, fresh sounds, and bold expression, while also redefining how consumers engage with Club Pilsener.”

She added that the strong response from audiences reflected a growing appetite for curated, experience-driven events in Kampala’s entertainment space.

By the end of the night, organisers said Club Canvas had successfully delivered on its promise of blending music, art, and interaction into a single immersive experience, positioning it as a new direction in branded nightlife activations in Uganda.
