Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has launched a new mobile application aimed at improving public access to its services and simplifying business registration processes through digital technology.
The URSB Connect App, launched in Kampala on November 5, 2026, is designed to provide businesses, entrepreneurs and members of the public with a convenient platform to access the Bureau’s services and information without necessarily visiting its physical offices.
The application is part of URSB’s ongoing digital transformation efforts aimed at modernising service delivery, improving customer experience and making its services more accessible to Ugandans.
Speaking at the launch, Acting Registrar General Mustapher Ntale said the application demonstrates the Bureau’s commitment to innovation and the modernisation of public service delivery.
“Our ambition is to make accessing URSB services easier, faster and more convenient for every Ugandan. The URSB Connect App brings us closer to our clients by placing essential services and information in the palm of their hands. It is another important step in transforming how we serve the public and building a more accessible, responsive and customer-centred institution,” Ntale said.
The URSB Connect App provides a central digital access point to services under the Bureau’s mandate, including company and business name registration, business searches and annual returns.
It also provides access to intellectual property services, including trademark-related services, as well as information on insolvency, receivership and the Security Interest in Movable Property Registry (SIMPO), commonly referred to as the Chattels Registry.
The platform further provides users with relevant service information and support, offering an additional channel through which clients can interact with the Bureau.
The launch builds on URSB’s ongoing transition from predominantly physical and paper-based processes, which have traditionally involved long queues and multiple visits to its offices, towards more efficient digital service delivery.
Over the years, the Bureau has invested in digital infrastructure, including online registration platforms and the electronic registry system known as eRegistry, which enables users to access various registration services electronically.
The eRegistry replaced the former Online Business Registration System (OBRS), marking a significant step in modernising the Bureau’s digital service environment.
URSB Connect complements these existing systems by extending access through mobile technology and providing clients with another convenient way to engage with the institution.
The Bureau says the continued development of digital platforms is intended to improve efficiency, accessibility and the overall delivery of registration services.
How to Download the URSB Connect App
The application is available on the Google Play Store for Android users and the Apple App Store for iPhone users.
Members of the public can search for “URSB Connect” on their respective app stores, download the application and follow the instructions to get started.
URSB has encouraged businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals and the general public to embrace the new platform and take advantage of the convenience it offers.
The Bureau says the initiative reinforces its commitment to facilitating business formalisation, improving Uganda’s business environment and supporting the country’s broader economic development agenda.
