Bank of Africa Uganda has embraced the future of finance with the launch of its latest campaign, “Appsolutely Eassy,” which introduces a fully remote account opening feature via the BOA Wallet App.
This innovation allows Ugandans to open and operate a bank account entirely from their mobile phone, with no paperwork, no queues, and no branch visits required.
“With the BOA Wallet, we are removing traditional barriers to financial inclusion. Now, anyone can open a fully functional bank account in minutes, right from their mobile phone — no paperwork, no queues, no delays. This innovation is part of our broader strategy to make banking truly accessible to everyone, especially the younger, digitally driven generation,” said Arthur Isiko, the Managing Director of the bank.
Targeted primarily at youth, first-time banking clients, and existing customers, the campaign leverages Uganda’s fast-growing mobile phone usage.
The GSMA Mobile Economy Sub-Saharan Africa 2024 report projects that over 80% of Ugandans will own smartphones by 2025, a trend BOAUG is keen to capitalize on with its mobile-first strategy.
Beyond just opening accounts, the BOA Wallet App offers a full spectrum of digital banking services tailored for modern users:
BOA Pay: Enables secure and fast digital payments to merchants and service providers.
Bill Payments: Lets users settle utilities, purchase airtime, and handle essential services within the app.
Interest-Earning Savings: Users can grow their money by saving directly in the app with competitive interest rates.
Designed with a sleek interface and robust security features, the app ensures real-time transaction alerts and full access to accounts around the clock, making financial management both intuitive and safe.
Through the “Appsolutely Eassy” campaign, Bank of Africa Uganda says it  is accelerating financial empowerment, increasing deposits, and offering banking experiences that match today’s fast-paced, digital lifestyle.
BOA Uganda  serves individuals, SMEs, and large corporates through its 32 branches, 33 ATMs, and a network of over 750 agents nationwide.
