Uganda Cranes striker Jude Ssemugabi has completed a move to South Sudanese champions Jamus SC from Kitara FC.
The forward, who scored ten goals for Kitara last season, had been strongly linked with KCCA and even rumored to have reached an agreement with Vipers. However, it is Jamus that secured his signature, confirming his long-awaited arrival at Juba National Stadium on Friday.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please join us in giving a warm welcome to our superstar, Jude Ssemugabi, who arrived in Juba this afternoon! Let’s show him love and support as he embarks on this exciting journey with us,” the club announced.
Ssemugabi will hold his first training session on Sunday as the Juba-based side prepares for a preseason friendly against Sudan’s Al-Hilal.
Jamus had initially planned a mega unveiling for the Uganda Cranes star in June, but the striker chose to first feature for Uganda’s locally based players at the CHAN tournament before making the switch.
Known for his tireless work rate, Ssemugabi now looks set to feature in the CAF Champions League, with Jamus representing South Sudan after their unbeaten run to the 2024/25 league title. They finished with 68 points in 26 matches, winning 21 and drawing five.
