Jamaican dancehall musician Spice has arrived in Uganda ahead of her highly anticipated concert scheduled for Saturday at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.

The artiste was officially welcomed during a press conference hosted by Nile Breweries Limited (NBL) through its flagship brand Nile Special, in partnership with Africa One Tours and Travel Limited’s entertainment brand Safari Beats.

Originally slated for December 2025, the concert was rescheduled to May 2026, with organisers saying the additional time allowed for the development of a broader entertainment and tourism experience around the event.

Spice is expected to headline the concert alongside several Ugandan female artistes including Cindy Sanyu, Karole Kasita and Winnie Nwagi.

Other performers on the lineup include Navio, Ziza Bafana and Mark D Urban, while DJs Slick Stuart and Naselow will also feature during the show.

Speaking during the press conference at Nile Breweries headquarters in Luzira, Nile Special Brand Manager Eric Malinga said the event is intended to celebrate creativity, authenticity and cultural exchange through music.

“What we are building here goes far beyond a single night of entertainment. This is about aligning with a mindset, one of boldness, excellence, and authenticity,” Malinga said.

“Spice represents that on a global scale, and our Ugandan artists embody it locally in a way that continues to shape the sound and identity of this market,” he added.

Malinga said the partnership also reflects efforts to enhance consumer experiences while showcasing Uganda’s cultural identity.

“As Nile Special, we see this as an opportunity to celebrate that shared spirit while also elevating the experience for consumers. From today’s welcome to the final moment on stage at Lugogo, every touchpoint has been designed to reflect quality, pride, and a distinctly Ugandan sense of occasion,” he said.

Spice said she was excited to visit Uganda and interact with local fans ahead of the concert.

“I’m truly excited to be in Uganda. From the moment I arrived, the energy, the warmth of the people, and the richness of the culture have been incredible,” she said.

“This isn’t just about performing for me, it’s about connecting with the fans, experiencing the country, and celebrating the power of music to bring people together,” Spice added.

The singer is also expected to participate in several tourism and cultural activities during her stay, including visits to heritage sites and Murchison Falls National Park.

Safari Beats Chief Executive Officer Paula Nahamya said the programme surrounding Spice’s visit was designed to position Uganda as both an entertainment and tourism destination.

“Every element of Spice’s itinerary has been designed to connect her global influence with Uganda’s cultural depth and natural beauty,” Nahamya said.

“Whether it’s engaging with heritage at Buganda Kingdom sites, interacting with media to reach local audiences, or experiencing the raw spectacle of Murchison Falls, this is about creating moments that resonate beyond the stage,” she added.

The concert will be followed by an official after-party in Kampala.

Organisers said the event will also receive live digital coverage from content creators Wazo Dazo, while several tourism and hospitality partners are supporting the show.
