The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sacked the deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security, Brig Abdul Rugumayo.
Defence Intelligence and Security was previously called Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence(CMI).
This website has learnt that he has since been replaced with Brig Gen Oscar Munanura who has been serving as the Assistant Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence and Security in charge of Counter-Intelligence.
Brig Rugumayo has been sent to the defence headquarters in Mbuya for redeployment.
The shakeup comes at a time when the Chief of Defence Forces has also ordered the arrest of two senior officers including Gen Don Nabasa and Brig Johnson Namanya.
The reasons behind the move are yet to be known .
