The Entebbe community has been left reeling after a horrific double murder in Lugonjo Nakiwogo Cell, where a couple who had just returned from abroad was found brutally killed in their home.
Mutaaga David, 69, and his wife Mutaaga Deborah Florence, 62, were discovered dead in their residence on the morning of July 6, 2025.
Both victims had sustained fatal stab wounds, according to preliminary police findings.
The tragic discovery was made after a domestic worker attached to the household alerted authorities of a suspected attack.
A team of officers from the territorial police in Entebbe Division responded immediately, only to find the lifeless bodies of the couple inside the home.
“This was a targeted and violent attack. The couple had only recently returned from abroad and were settling back into their home. It’s a devastating loss,” said Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire.
He confirmed that the case is being treated as a double murder with suspected aggravated robbery.
“We condemn this heinous act in the strongest terms. Our teams conducted full crime scene documentation, collected exhibits of evidential value, and conveyed the bodies to the City Mortuary Mulago for postmortem examination,” he said.
He added added that the efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspect behind this shocking incident.
“We want to assure the public that no stone will be left unturned. We are fully committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice,” Owoyesigyire said.
Police say several leads are being pursued, though the exact motive for the attack is still under investigation.
