Two teachers from Standard College Rwashamaire in Ntungamo District who were captured in a viral video torturing students have been remanded to prison.
Aneb Mwesigye, 31 and Naboth Twesigye, 30 were captured in a viral video assaulting a student.
The incident has since sparked public outrage.
The duo was on Tuesday charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm before Ntungamo Grade I Magistrate Sharon Nassuna .
It is alleged that 16 year old Brian Akampa, a senior two student had escaped from the school and went to Rwashamaire town to eat chapati and beans, locally known as ‘Kikomando,’ before returning to the school.
On return, he was canned by the teachers on February 8.
On Tuesday, the two teachers denied the charges.
They were remanded to prison until March, 4, 2025.
