The Omusinga of Rwenzururu, Charles Wesley Mumbere, has traveled to Turkey to undergo medical treatment following extended discussions with the Ugandan government.
Speaking to journalists at Entebbe Airport, the Omusinga said he has not been feeling well for some time.
“I haven’t been feeling well, so I am traveling to Turkey for a medical review,” he said.
He also expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for facilitating his trip abroad.
“I am very grateful to H.E. President Museveni and his government for allowing me to go abroad for this medical review.”
The Omusinga is expected to return in time for his forthcoming coronation on November 14th at Nyakasanga Playground, Kasese
He urged all Banyarwenzururu to remain calm and not be misled by unverified social media reports regarding his travels or health.
He advised them to rely solely on official communication from the Royal Prime Minister’s Office for accurate information.
He further called upon all kingdom subjects, government agencies, community-based organizations (CBOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), well-wishers, and the international community to actively support the Rwenzururu Kingdom’s upcoming events of Birthday run and coronation
