Swangz Creative Academy has held its fourth edition graduation ceremony at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) Auditorium in Kololo, marking the graduation of over 100 young creatives from its latest training cohort.
The graduates completed courses in video production, audio production, events management, and digital marketing.
An initiative of the leading creative powerhouse Swangz Avenue, the academy was established to bridge the gap between passion and professional skill within Uganda’s creative industry.
Through structured, hands-on training led by industry practitioners, the academy equips young talent with practical knowledge and prepares them for real-world opportunities in media, events, and digital production—ultimately contributing to job creation and the growth of Uganda’s creative economy.
Beyond technical training, students received career guidance and inspiration from industry leaders Uncle Mo, Aaronaire, and Benon Mugumbya. Uncle Mo urged graduates to start creating immediately, emphasizing that consistent work attracts recognition and opens doors in the industry.
Aaronaire reminded them that real learning begins after graduation through projects, challenges, and consistent quality output. Benon Mugumbya, Swangz Avenue Head of Production, encouraged graduates to be problem-solvers, reliable, teachable, and purposeful, while treating their creative skills as a business.
Graduates also benefited from a session led by William Tumwine, Assistant Commissioner Registration Services at URSB, who guided them on registering creative businesses, copyright, and protecting intellectual property.
He emphasized the importance of formalizing creative work to build sustainable careers.
The graduation highlighted the strong collaboration between Swangz Avenue and URSB, aimed at nurturing youth talent, professionalism, and sustainability in Uganda’s creative sector.
As Swangz Creative Academy continues to expand with each edition, it remains a key pillar in shaping Uganda’s future content creators, event professionals, producers, and digital marketers. This latest graduation adds over 100 skilled creatives to Uganda’s creative economy, equipped with talent, business knowledge, and inspiration to succeed.
