Owobusobozi Bisaka, the spiritual leader and founder of the Faith of Unity, has called on his followers to back President Museveni in the forthcoming 2026 general elections, citing the government’s dedication to peace and national progress.
Speaking during the 39th Flower Day celebrations at the Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka International Stadium in Muhorro, Kagadi District, Owobusobozi urged his congregation to remain engaged in government programs and steadfast in their support for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
“Let us continue supporting the NRM government led by President Museveni, who has preserved peace and created a stable environment for both spiritual and national growth,” he told the gathering.
He added that without the existing political stability, the Faith of Unity would not have expanded globally as it has.
During the event, Owobusobozi stressed the values of hard work and discipline within the faith, encouraging members to contribute to Uganda’s development.
“We have only three rest days every month—the 2nd, 12th, and 22nd. The rest of the days are for work. Productivity is sacred. Let us use our time wisely and dedicate ourselves to nation-building,” he said.
Flower Day is a major event in the faith’s calendar, commemorating July 2, 1986, when Owobusobozi Bisaka reportedly helped dozens of women deliver safely after facing spiritual complications. In gratitude, the women paraded with flowers, singing praises—a tradition that continues today.
The event also highlighted the intersection between spiritual leadership and civic duty, with Owobusobozi urging followers to take an active role in national governance.
