The Uganda Police Force has announced a change in the reporting date for shortlisted candidates selected to undergo training as Probationer Police Constables (PPCs).
Initially scheduled to report on July 7, 2025, the candidates will now report for training on Friday, August 1, 2025.
In an official statement released on Thursday, the Police noted:
“On 27/06/2025, we invited the shortlisted candidates for Probationer Police Constable (PPC) course to report for training on 07 July 2025. We wish to inform all shortlisted candidates that the reporting date has been postponed to Friday, 1st August 2025.”
The Force did not cite a specific reason for the change but emphasized that all shortlisted individuals should take note of the new reporting date and make the necessary adjustments.
The training is part of an ongoing effort to bolster the Force’s capacity and professionalism by recruiting and grooming new officers through structured basic training programs.
Candidates are encouraged to continue preparing for the training and to follow official police communication channels for any further updates.
The Shortlisted candidates are required to report with the following Items: Originals and photocopies of academic documents and National ID, Four (04) passport size photographs, Mattress (3×6, maximum 4 inches thick), Two (02) blue pens and three counter books, Two (02) pairs of bed sheets, Gumboots and canvas shoes, Tracksuit and two T-shirts for physical training, Mosquito net, At least four (04) pairs of thick cotton stockings, Plastic jerrycan (10 litres) and Plastic basin/bucket.
Personal effects: two bars of soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, towel, razor blades, spoon, fork, plate, cup, and six rolls of toilet paper. Ladies are also advised to carry at least two packets of sanitary pads
