The Uganda Police has dismissed images circulating on social media that claim to show newly adopted rank designs and insignia for the force, describing them as false and misleading.
In a statement, police clarified that no changes have been made to the official police uniform or rank insignia, urging the public to ignore the images being shared online.
“Our attention has been drawn to images circulating on social media purporting to show newly adopted rank designs and insignia of the Uganda Police Force,” the statement reads.
Police said the circulating images are not authentic and were generated using artificial intelligence.
“We wish to clarify that the Uganda Police Force has not made any changes to its uniform components, including rank designs and insignia. The images being shared online are misleading and AI-generated, and therefore should be disregarded,” police stated.
The force urged members of the public to rely only on official communication channels for accurate information regarding institutional changes.
