Police in Nsangi are investigating the mysterious disappearance of a 10-year-old boy, Mukwaya Kamada, a pupil at Ryan Nursery and Primary School in Bukomye Cell, Maya, Kyengera Town Council.
The missing child was last seen on June 25, 2025, after he was reportedly sent by his stepmother, Namakula Hafuswa, to purchase a spool of thread (Lustic) from a nearby shop.
According to police, Kamada was given UGX 1,000, returned with the item, but had only spent UGX 500. When questioned about the remaining balance, he said he would go back to look for the missing money and has not been seen since.
The case was reported to police by the child’s father, Mukwaya Abdul Semadu, a 40-year-old mechanic and resident of Bukomye Cell.
Police say the child had been staying with his father and stepmother following the separation of his biological parents.
In a statement issued today, Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, said that an active investigation is ongoing, and the case is being treated with utmost seriousness.
