Police in Kiboga are investigating an incident in which a security guard shot and killed his colleague after a heated exchange while on duty.
The shooting happened at about 1:00 am on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Brac Bank in Bamusuuta, Kiboga Town Council. The two guards, both attached to Ultimate Security Company, had been deployed to guard the bank.
The deceased has been identified as Moses Engoromoit 39, who was armed only with a baton at the time of the incident.
Police say he was allegedly shot in the head by his colleague, Moses Karuhanga, following a heated exchange.
Witnesses told police the disagreement escalated quickly, with Karuhanga using his firearm to fatally shoot Engoromoit.
After the shooting, the suspect reportedly phoned their supervisor to inform him before fleeing the scene. The supervisor later found Engoromoit’s body in a pool of blood, with the gun abandoned nearby.
SP Racheal Kawala, the Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident.
“The scene of crime has been examined and documented, and statements have been recorded from relevant witnesses. Efforts are underway to track down the suspect who is currently on the run,” she said.
Police have since recovered the firearm and sent it for forensic analysis.
She emphasized that police will not rest until the suspect is captured and brought to justice.
