Police have arrested a private security guard accused of killing businessman Anthony Mutinisa, owner of Mutinisa Motors Uganda, a luxury vehicle hire company specializing in high-end Toyota Land Cruisers.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when Hillary Byaruhanga, employed by Don World Security Limited and attached to Mutinisa’s company, allegedly shot Mutinisa before fleeing with one of his luxury vehicles, registration number UA 769 BQ, and an unspecified amount of cash.
Police spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke confirmed that Byaruhanga was apprehended on Monday evening in Kanungu District, Southwestern Uganda. The stolen vehicle was recovered in Katwe Cell, Kihihi Town Council.
Rusoke added that a second suspect, Akampa Mark, a driver for the deceased, was also arrested in connection with the crime.
The swift arrests highlight police efforts to pursue and apprehend suspects in high-profile criminal cases, ensuring justice is served.
