Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho, popularly known as Gen. Salim Saleh, has dismissed social media claims linking him to one of the hotels in a wetland in Busabala in Wakiso district.
The video on popular social media platform, TikTok claimed the hotel build in Kaliddubi wetland in Busaabala belongs to Gen Saleh and President Museveni’s daughter, Natasha Karugire.
The video also alleged that NEMA had demolished more than 600 homes in order to create space for a road leading to the alleged hotel.
Responding to the allegations, Gen. Saleh described the claims as false and questioned the misuse of social media platforms to spread unverified information.
“I have seen a citizen on TikTok claiming I own a hotel in Kampala and in a wetland. He alleges that I own the hotel with Natasha and then tries to link this property to the whole race. This is private property,” Gen. Saleh wrote.
The senior military officer also hinted at forthcoming disclosures regarding ownership of properties within the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area (GKMA), referencing several government and land management institutions.
“What type of freedom is this? Very soon, we shall know who owns what in GKMA. ULC, KDLB, NHCC, BLB and others. Stay tuned,” he stated.
The institutions referenced by Gen. Saleh include the Uganda Land Commission (ULC), Kampala District Land Board (KDLB), National Housing and Construction Company (NHCC), and Buganda Land Board (BLB).
His remarks come amid heightened public debate surrounding NEMA’s enforcement operations in Busaabala, where several structures have been affected as authorities move to protect wetlands and enforce environmental regulations.
