Police in Mukono have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Justas Kamugisha, a casual worker at Makipi Factory.
The suspects have been identified as Charles Kabogoza Kiwanuka, James Ozambe and Julius Joshua Mwayafu, while Chrisisto Kazibwe is also being mentioned in connection with the case.
According to police, officers responded to a distress call on April 19, 2026, and immediately launched investigations into the killing.
Police said a sniffer dog was deployed at the crime scene and picked up a cap believed to belong to the deceased. The dog followed the trail, which led officers to the residence of one of the suspects.
At the home, police found Kabogoza Charles Kiwanuka hiding and placed him under arrest.
Police said that upon arrest, Kabogoza reportedly confessed to the murder and implicated his two alleged accomplices, Ozambe James and Mwayafu Julius Joshua, who were later apprehended.
Authorities added that investigations are still ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the murder and determine the role of all those linked to the case.
