The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) has attributed the ongoing power outage affecting several parts of Mbale City, Nakaloke, Budadiri, Bududa, Manafwa, and neighboring areas to a technical fault at the Mbale Substation.
Jonan Kiiza, the Head of Corporate and Stakeholder Affairs at UEDCL, said engineers are already on site working to restore electricity supply by 6:00 p.m.
“The current power outage being experienced in Mbale City, Nakaloke, Budadiri, Bududa, Manafwa and surrounding areas is due to a technical fault at the Mbale Substation. Our technical team is working to restore supply by 6:00 p.m.,” Kiiza said.
He apologized to customers for the inconvenience caused, assuring them that the company is doing everything possible to restore power as soon as possible.
“Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted,” he added.
UEDCL encouraged customers in the affected areas to remain patient and report any emergency or persistent faults through its official communication channels.
