Uganda Baati has unveiled a refreshed brand campaign for Dumuzaz, one of Uganda’s longest-standing roofing sheet brands, as the company seeks to strengthen consumer recognition and reaffirm its position in the country’s construction industry.
The campaign, dubbed “Amabaati Ameeru, Amawangaazi,” seeks to reconnect consumers with Dumuzaz and its longstanding reputation for quality, durability and reliable protection for homes and other structures.
According to Uganda Baati, the campaign will encourage consumers to move beyond asking for generic unpainted roofing sheets and specifically request Dumuzaz by name.
Timothy Luzinda, Head of Marketing at Uganda Baati, said the campaign builds on Dumuzaz’s longstanding presence in Uganda’s construction sector.
“Dumuzaz is one of the most recognised and enduring brands in Uganda’s construction industry. For decades, it has sheltered families, businesses and communities across the country, earning a reputation for quality, durability and dependability,” Luzinda said.
He said the campaign is intended to celebrate the brand’s heritage while reminding consumers of the value associated with the product.
“We want Ugandans to move beyond asking for generic unpainted roof sheets and confidently ask for Dumuzaz by name because it is a brand they know, trust and have relied on for generations,” he added.
Jackie Tahakanizibwa, Head of Corporate Affairs at Uganda Baati, said Dumuzaz has become part of Uganda’s construction heritage because of its longstanding association with homes and communities.
“Dumuzaz is more than a roof sheet; it is part of Uganda’s building heritage. For years, Ugandan families have trusted Dumuzaz to protect the homes where their stories unfold, their children grow up, and their dreams take shape,” Tahakanizibwa said.
She said the campaign would reinforce the brand’s focus on quality and value while highlighting its history in Uganda’s construction sector.
Uganda Baati describes Dumuzaz as Uganda’s first locally manufactured iron sheet brand, giving it a distinctive place in the country’s construction history.
As part of the campaign, the company plans to showcase stories from homeowners, dealers, builders and communities that have used Dumuzaz roofing sheets over the years.
Uganda Baati said the stories will highlight the long-term value of investing in quality roofing materials rather than basing purchasing decisions solely on the initial price.
The campaign’s call to action, “Dumuzaz, Amabaati Ameeru, Amawangaazi,” is intended to strengthen brand awareness, deepen consumer confidence and reinforce Dumuzaz’s position as one of Uganda’s established roofing products.
The campaign comes as manufacturers and suppliers in Uganda’s construction sector continue to compete for consumer attention in a market where quality, durability and price remain key considerations when selecting building materials.
