Uganda is using the International & French Travel Market (IFTM) Top Resa 2026 in Paris to promote its diverse tourism offering to French and European travellers, with a focus on wildlife, nature, adventure and sustainable tourism.
The country is highlighting its mountain gorilla experiences in Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga Gorilla National Parks, which are home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Uganda is also promoting Big Five safari experiences across its 10 national parks, trekking in the Rwenzori Mountains, activities along the River Nile, birdwatching and community-based tourism.
The country’s tourism offering is being supported by continued investment in the hospitality sector. Key developments include the 181-room Kampala Marriott Hotel and Hemingway’s Hotel in Entebbe, close to Entebbe International Airport.
New and expanding accommodation facilities in tourism and protected areas include Erebero Hills and Gorilla Forest Lodge in Bwindi, Namoni Lodge near Kidepo Valley, Kulu Ora in Murchison Falls and Paradise Island Resort on Lake Victoria.
Hilton Kampala is also expected to open in 2027, adding to the city’s growing portfolio of international hospitality facilities.
Uganda’s participation in IFTM Top Resa is also focused on building long-term commercial partnerships with French and European tour operators.
Meetings at the three-day tourism trade fair are expected to explore opportunities to develop new itineraries around Uganda’s tourism attractions and major events.
Among the events being promoted are the Race the Nile ULTRA Explorer Edition, an 800-kilometre gravel race scheduled for Arua in November 2026; the Africa Cup of Nations, which Uganda will co-host with Kenya and Tanzania in June and July 2027; the Rwenzori Marathon, scheduled for August 21–22, 2027; and the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE), which will be held in Kampala from May 20–22, 2027.
Through its presence at IFTM Top Resa, Uganda is seeking to strengthen relationships with international travel buyers, expand its presence in the French market and create new opportunities for tourism businesses and destinations across the country.
