Court has remanded a 48 year old blogger to Luzira prison for posting video-links insulting his former girlfriend and her mother .
Ronald Kibedi Cox , a popular blogger in Uganda and a resident of Kyanja ring -Road in Nakawa division was on Tuesday arraigned before the Buganda Road Magistrates court and cyber harrassment and insulting the modesty of women.
Its alleged that since 2021 till the day of his arrest on January, 18, 2024, in Kampala City Kibedi has been using his official Facebook page to post video-links with an intention that his former girlfriend and her mother sees them.
In the said videos , Kibedi insinuated that his former girlfriend and her mother are prostitutes who spend most their time bleaching their skins.
Having felt offended with the said videos, the mother and her daughter reported the matter to the Central Police Station in Kampala leading to his arrest.
When the charges were read against him, Kibedi denied all of them before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, Ronald Kayizzi.
He was remanded until Friday to enable him apply for bail.
