A total of 730,233 candidates passed the 2025 Primary Leaving Exams whose results have been released by UNEB today, Friday.
The results released at State Lodge in Nakasero by the Minister of Education and Sports Janet Museveni indicated that majority of the candidates at 388,293 passed in division two, followed by 165,226 in Division three while those who passed in division one were 91,990 and 84,724 in the four division.
The results also show that more candidates (7,503) passed the 2025 PLE compared to 2024 while more more candidates passed in Division 1 in 2025 than in 2024, an increase of 7,689.
The results also show that whereas more girls at 380,264, passed PLE than the 349,969 male candidates, in terms of percentage, boys outshone their female counterparts.
A total of 48,220 of boys representing 12.54% passed in division one while 43,770 representing 10.35% girls passed in the same division.
In the second division, still more boys(186,638) representing a 48.54% passed, compared to 47.69% for their female counterparts.
There were also more ungraded female students( failed) at 42,580 representing 10.07% than their male counterparts at 34,500 representing 8.97%.
A total of 817,883 candidates from 15,388 examination centres registered for PLE in 2025 compared to 797,444 in 2024.
Of this number, 522,036 (63.8%) from 11,525 centres were Universal Primary Education (UPE) beneficiaries, and 295,847 (36.2%) of the candidates from 3,863 centres were Non UPE.
