Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have officially announced the signing of highly-rated winger Usama Arafat on a three-year contract, following the expiry of his deal with KCCA FC.
The 21-year-old becomes the seventh signing for the Venoms in the current transfer window, as the club continues to strengthen ahead of domestic and continental campaigns.
In a statement released on Monday via the club’s official channels, Vipers described Arafat as “one of the brightest young talents in Ugandan football,” highlighting his consistent performances and attacking flair.
“I’m really excited to be joining Vipers SC, one of the top clubs in Uganda. To me, signing for Vipers SC means joining a big football family with ambition and a winning mentality,”

Arafat joins an impressive list of new arrivals at Kitende, including Hney, Chukwuma, Mark Yallah, Kevin Dasylva Bady, Taddeo Lwanga, Ashraf Mandela, and Enock Ssebaggala.
At KCCA FC, Arafat built a reputation as a dynamic and creative forward. He registered seven goals and six assists in 23 appearances last season, following a previous campaign in which he tallied 10 goals and six assists across all competitions.
“It’s an opportunity to challenge myself at the highest level in Uganda, compete for trophies, and represent the club in continental football. It also means growth for me as a player,” Usama Arafat said.
Arafat will wear jersey number 27 at Vipers and is expected to link up with his new teammates after their CAF Champions League clash against Namibia’s African Stars FC on Friday.
The pacey winger emphasized his eagerness to contribute to Vipers’ continued success:
“I’m eager to get started, train hard, and make a positive impact. The support of the fans, the club’s management, and my teammates will be crucial in making this a successful tenure.”
With Vipers aiming to make a deep run in both local and continental competitions, the acquisition of Usama Arafat signals the club’s intent to maintain their dominance in Ugandan football.
