Gen Caleb Akandwanaho, also known as Salim Saleh, has praised Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) officers for their dedication in steering Ugandan communities from subsistence farming toward more sustainable money-making ventures.
Speaking during a gathering at Kapeeka Industrial Park in Nakaseke District, the OWC Chief Coordinator expressed gratitude to the officers for their consistency and impact.
“I want to take this moment to extend my heartfelt thanks to each one of you for the exceptional work you’ve done as agents of Operation Wealth Creation,” Gen Saleh said.
He noted that OWC’s work has not only transformed communities at home but has also drawn attention beyond Uganda.
“Your contributions have ignited a vital international conversation on the issue of ‘wealth creation,’ becoming a central theme of discussion over the past 12 years. I commend all who embarked on this journey with us and those who have joined us along the way,” he added.
Saleh reminded the officers that their efforts, though not always immediately visible, remain crucial in shaping livelihoods.
“Even though the results of your dedicated work may not always be immediately apparent, I assure you that they profoundly influence countless lives,” he emphasised.
The Kapeeka meeting also provided space for OWC officers to share best practices on aligning programmes with Uganda’s broader socio-economic objectives.
Gen Saleh was also briefed on outcomes from a recent retreat at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwanzi, which reaffirmed the collective drive toward continuous improvement.
As a flagship government initiative, Operation Wealth Creation continues to stand at the forefront of Uganda’s push for economic transformation and sustainable national development.
