A student of Kyambogo University has died following a fatal road crash in Bweyogerere after the boda-boda she was riding on collided with a moving vehicle.
The deceased has been identified as Anita Scovia Cherotich. Her identity was confirmed through a university identification card recovered at the scene.
According to the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety spokesperson, Michael Kananura, the accident occurred when the boda-boda she was travelling on was involved in a collision with a vehicle, leading to her instant death.
“The bearer of this Kyambogo University ID, identified as Cherotich Anita Scovia, was involved in a fatal road crash in Bweyogerere. She was travelling on a boda-boda that collided with a moving vehicle, resulting in her immediate death,” Kananura said.
He added that the body was taken to Mulago Mortuary as police begin efforts to trace her next of kin.
“Her body has been taken to Mulago Mortuary, and her family or relatives have not yet been identified or contacted. Anyone who may know her family is requested to pass on this information to them,” he said.
Police have urged anyone with information regarding the deceased’s family to contact Bweyogerere Police Station as investigations into the crash continue.
