Absa Bank Uganda has recognised 13 outstanding dealer partners at the inaugural Titan Awards, an annual initiative aimed at strengthening strategic partnerships that expand access to vehicle and asset financing for individuals and businesses across Uganda.
The awards celebrate dealer partners whose collaboration has enabled more Ugandans to acquire productive assets, including vehicles, agricultural machinery, construction equipment and specialised business assets that contribute to economic growth.
Speaking at the ceremony, Absa Bank Uganda Managing Director David Wandera commended the dealers for their continued partnership and contribution to the growth of the bank’s asset finance business.
“Providing financing to individuals and businesses investing in productive assets is only possible because of the strong partnerships we have built with our dealer network. Behind every vehicle, tractor, bus or piece of construction equipment financed by Absa is a partnership between the bank and our dealers. The Titan Awards recognise partners whose commitment to excellence, customer service and collaboration has enabled more Ugandans to access the financing they need to invest, grow businesses and strengthen communities,” Wandera said.
The demand for asset financing continues to grow as businesses seek to acquire equipment and machinery to improve productivity, competitiveness and expansion.
According to the June 2026 State of the Economy Report by the Bank of Uganda, private sector credit continues to expand, with housing and real estate accounting for 22% of total credit, trade 14%, agriculture 12%, manufacturing 11%, and transport and communication 5%. These sectors increasingly depend on financing to acquire productive assets that support business growth and economic development.
The Titan Awards recognise excellence across Absa’s asset finance ecosystem, covering passenger and commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, agricultural machinery, specialised assets and environmental sustainability initiatives.
The Guest of Honour, Winstone Katushabe, Commissioner for Transport Regulation and Safety and Chief Motor Vehicle Licensing Officer at the Ministry of Works and Transport, praised Absa Bank for working with dealers and manufacturers to make productive assets more accessible.
“A productive asset should not remain permanently beyond the reach of a farmer, an entrepreneur, a school or a growing business simply because they are unable to pay its full cost at once. It is encouraging to see banks such as Absa partnering with dealers and manufacturers to make these productive assets more accessible. These investments increase productivity, create jobs, strengthen safety standards and enhance the competitiveness of Uganda’s economy,” Katushabe said.
The award winners included some of Uganda’s leading suppliers of vehicles and productive assets.
Motor Center was recognised as the Top Passenger Vehicle Dealer (Brand New), while Mighty Rides won the Top Passenger Vehicle Dealer (Used) award. Double Q and Tata Uganda were named leading commercial vehicle partners for trucks and buses respectively.
Pearltrac Uganda Limited and Afgri were recognised for their contribution to the construction and agriculture sectors, while Achilles Rental Uganda Limited received the Top Specialised Asset Supplier award.
Other winners included Al-Mamoun, which was named Emerging Dealer of the Year; Motor Care, recognised for the Highest Transaction Volume; Pacific Diagnostic, awarded for the Highest Transaction Value; Double Q, which also received the Fastest Deal Turnaround Partner award; and Kiira Motors, named Environmental Champion of the Year for advancing sustainable mobility solutions.
Absa Bank Uganda Retail and Business Banking Director Moses Rutahigwa reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to providing flexible financing solutions that enable more businesses and institutions to acquire productive assets.
“Our promise to the market is to continue availing financing when and where it is needed. This is demonstrated by initiatives such as our partnership with Tata Uganda, which we rolled out last year to enable schools across Uganda to acquire modern, safe and reliable school buses through affordable asset financing. We also offer flexible arrangement fees, tailored repayment plans and competitive interest rates,” Rutahigwa said.
The Titan Awards will be held annually to celebrate dealer partners whose innovation, performance and collaboration continue to expand access to productive asset financing and support Uganda’s economic transformation.
