Dr. Diana Atwiine, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, praised C-Care Uganda for its valuable contribution to supporting public healthcare services in Uganda.
Speaking during the C-Care excellence Awards held at Serena Hotel Kampala , Dr. Atwiine highlighted the crucial role of private sector players in the healthcare sector.
“The government is unable to meet all health requirements, but you shield us by closing the gaps and lessening our burden. We treasure the private sector because it contributes 45% of healthcare services.”
She expressed amazement upon learning that C-Care serves over 30,000 patients each month, noting that up to 45% of Ugandans receive healthcare from private sector providers.
“I was amazed to know that you see 38,000 patients monthly. That’s massive. It takes good service to attract all those numbers. You have passed the litmus paper test for quality because you would not be getting 38,000 people per month in your different clinics if the service wasn’t of quality.”
She also  praised C-Care for its focus on patient needs and its delivery of exceptional care noting that Patient-centeredness is the foundation of our profession, and C-Care embodies this value.
“Their commitment to excellence and empathy is a shining example for all healthcare providers. You can never put your services on patient-centeredness and not prosper. That one I’m 100% sure.”
Dr. Atwiine  applauded C-Care IMC for organizing events that recognize outstanding performance among health practitioners in Uganda and reminded them of the sector’s efforts to enhance healthcare landscape in Uganda.
C-Care IMC Uganda hosted its annual operational excellence awards celebrating the exceptional achievements of it clinics
The awards program highlighted the exceptional achievements of seven facilities recognized for their successful implementation of operational excellence initiatives.
These facilities have effectively utilized a range of programs, strategies, processes, systems, and tools to enhance and standardize patient experiences across their operations
Andrew Mugalu, the General Manager of C-Care IMC, emphasized that operational excellence is central to their mission, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care.
“Operational excellence is at the heart of everything we do. It is about more than just efficiency; it is about ensuring that every patient receives the highest standard of care. It involves quickly resolving patient issues, maintaining clean and safe facilities, and serving our clients with speed and compassion. It’s about making sure our clinics are easily accessible and that every touchpoint in the patient journey is seamless and positive.” he said.
Mugalu noted that the excellence awards program reflects their commitment to advancing healthcare quality in the region.
“C-Care IMC Uganda remains committed to its mission to deliver the most caring medical expertise, always putting our patients first. The excellence awards program underscores our dedication to continuous improvement and sets a benchmark for healthcare excellence in the region,” he added.
Azhar Sundhoo the CEO of C-Care Uganda, explained that the awards aim to not only recognize individual and team achievements but also to foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
“As we celebrate these achievements, let us remember that our journey does not end here. The healthcare landscape is constantly evolving, and we must continue to innovate, adapt, and improve. Let us take inspiration from tonight’s celebrations and channel it into further enhancing our services, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of healthcare excellence in Uganda,” he said.
C-Care’s sensitization efforts about the importance of operational excellence in healthcare began in January this year.
This initiative aims to reinforce the values of excellence and innovation throughout our network, encouraging all staff to strive for the highest standards in healthcare delivery at all patient touchpoints.
One of the notable achievements of the entire operational excellence process was the successful implementation of a comprehensive patient feedback system across all C-Care IMC facilities.
This system, which includes real-time pulse surveys and automated feedback collection, has significantly improved our ability to monitor patient satisfaction, address concerns promptly, and enhance the overall quality of care. This initiative has led to more efficient resolution of patient issues, improved service delivery, and a higher standard of patient experience across the network.
C-Care IMC serves over 450,000 patients annually through a network of 20 clinics, including 5 admission facilities across Uganda, and employs over 300 health professionals.
