Edward Ssebuufu, popularly known as Eddie Mutwe who has been missing for several days has been dropped at Masaka Court and later remanded.
Mutwe, the bodyguard for National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine, has been in custody since April 27, 2025.
The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba on Thursday night said Mutwe was under military detention.
On Monday afternoon, Mutwe was driven and dropped at the Masaka court by a Toyota Mark X vehicle which was being escorted by a Toyota Hiace known as drone as well as a police vehicle.
Journalists were barred from taking pictures or videos but Mutwe looked frail and was limping and was being aided by other people to walk.
Meanwhile, the media was stopped from covering the court proceedings.
According to his lawyer, Magerani Kazibwe, Mutwe was presented before Grade One Magistrate Abdallah Kayiza and six charges read against him.
The lawyer said Mutwe looked frail.
“Due to his physical and emotional state, we were compelled to request that the magistrate allow him to be taken to a hospital for proper treatment,” he said.
He was remanded to Masaka Main Prison until May, 25.
