Butambala Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to two minors among the 25 people accused in the case involving Muwanga Kivumbi and others.
The minors, identified as Wilson Muyinda and Paul Mawanda, had spent a full school term on remand following their arrest after a violent incident in Butambala where seven people were shot dead during the January 16 election day at Muwanga Kivumbi’s home.
The court noted that the two are under 18 years of age and cannot be held in an adult prison facility.
Their sureties were bonded at a non-cash bail of Shs10 million.
The duo are expected to return to court on the 28th of this month as the case continues.
