MultiChoice Uganda has unveiled a month-long promotional campaign that will see eligible DStv and GOtv subscribers automatically upgraded to higher subscription packages at no additional cost.
The campaign, dubbed “Open Time,” runs from 1st June to 30th June 2026 and is designed to give customers enhanced access to premium entertainment content, including sports, movies, drama series, children’s programming, and documentaries.
According to the company, the initiative responds to the growing demand for diverse home entertainment options, as households increasingly seek content that caters to varied interests and viewing preferences.
Under the promotion, customers who maintain active and fully paid subscriptions will automatically be upgraded to the next higher package for the duration of the campaign, without requiring any opt-in process.
“Today’s audiences are looking for greater choice and value from their entertainment. Through Open Time, we are giving customers the opportunity to access more content, explore new genres and enjoy an expanded viewing experience throughout June,” said Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda.
For DStv subscribers, customers on Compact Plus and Compact packages will be upgraded to DStv Premium. Those on Family Plus and Family packages will move up to Compact, while Access customers will be upgraded to the Family bouquet. Subscribers on the Lumba package are excluded from the promotion.
On the GOtv platform, customers on Supa and Max packages will be upgraded to GOtv Supa Plus, while GOtv Plus subscribers will move to GOtv Max. However, customers on GOtv Value and GOtv Lite packages will not be eligible for the promotion.
The offer applies to both existing and reconnecting customers whose accounts remain active during the promotional period. New subscribers who join in June will also qualify once their payments are processed.
MultiChoice Uganda noted that the upgraded access will remain valid until the end of June 2026, after which customers will revert to their original subscription packages.
