Prominent political commentator and Chairperson of the Council for Abavandimwe, Frank Gashumba, has officially confirmed the birth of his child with his wife, Patience Malaika Mutoni, marking a joyous milestone for the couple.
Gashumba made the announcement live on the Entugga morning show on Radio 4, hosted by journalist Adam Kungu, on Monday.
“I am pleased to announce the arrival of our new child. Both my wife, Malaika, and the baby are in good health,” Gashumba shared during the broadcast.
The news comes just months after the couple’s traditional wedding ceremony, held earlier this year. Speculation about Malaika’s pregnancy had surfaced in May, but the couple remained tight-lipped until the official confirmation.
Gashumba, a vocal media personality and social commentator known for his candid opinions on national issues, had lived as a bachelor for over two decades prior to marrying Malaika. The wedding was widely celebrated across social and mainstream media, drawing messages of support from political circles and the general public.
Following the announcement, social media platforms have been flooded with congratulatory messages from friends, family, and well-wishers. As of press time, the couple had not yet disclosed the baby’s gender or name.
Gashumba continues to play a significant role in Ugandan civil discourse, particularly through his leadership within the Council for Abavandimwe and his frequent appearances in media, where he often critiques governance and policy matters.
