The Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala, has provided an update on the condition of Maj. Gen. Sabiiti Muzeyi and his family following a serious road accident on Saturday in Sembabule.
The retired police officer was returning home from President Museveni’s granddaughter’s give-away ceremony when the accident occurred.
Maj. Gen. Muzeyi and his family were swiftly airlifted to Nakasero Hospital, where they are currently receiving medical care.
Gen. Katumba Wamala, who visited Muzeyi yesterday evening, confirmed that both he and his family are now out of danger.
“Yesterday evening, I visited Maj. Gen. Sabiiti Muzeyi in hospital. I am glad to share that he is doing well, and so is his family. We continue to pray for God’s protection over him,” Gen. Katumba Wamala said.
The minister also used the occasion to urge all Ugandan road users to exercise caution.
“Road accidents remain a major challenge in the country. I hope each of us takes responsibility to respect and protect fellow road users. Remember to wear your safety belt. And as we return our children to school, may we remember this,” he added.
The incident underscores the persistent road safety challenges in Uganda and the need for vigilance by all motorists.
