A group of 43 Ugandan students who had been studying at Ahlul Bayt International University in Iran are expected to arrive in the country today, Tuesday, February 3, aboard Ethiopian Airlines.
The students were evacuated from Iran on Monday and transferred to Turkey as part of coordinated efforts to ensure their safe return home.
Authorities confirmed that arrangements are ongoing to repatriate an additional 53 Ugandan students currently pursuing their studies at Qom University in Iran.
Officials have assured families and the public that the government is working closely with relevant partners to facilitate the safe evacuation and return of all affected students.
The students expected to arrive today are:
