President Museveni has said he expects to win this year’s election by 80%.
Speaking after castign the ballot on Thursday, Museveni said he expects the election to be free and fair, noting that he expects a landslide win.
“If there is no cheating, it will be 80%. Last time they(EC) said 58% but it was more than that because of cheating which distorted the figure,” he said.
Museveni insisted that the opposition cheated the ruling National Resistance Movement(NRM) party with 2.7 million votes.
“The opposition created one million votes at Nkrumah Road( in Kampala) and 1.7 million votes were brought from Dubai.”
Museveni was however optimistic this will not happen this time since the Electoral Commission biometric vioting machines.
He however said some people were opposed to the biometric machines, noting that government insisted on introducing them.
According to Museveni, these machines will help prevent multiple voting as well as ghost voters.
“We said let this time go biometric. You vote manually but after the machines have confirmed that you are the one and you will vote only once.
